Hammer & Tongue featuring Anna Freeman & Mark Grist

Its NEARLY SPRINGTIME!! Hammer and Tongue is bringing you a tasty March treat- a night of the very best in People's Who Say Poems Out Loud, hosted by Bristol's best-dressed-partners-in-rime Sally Jenkinson and James Bunting

Featuring:

Anna Freeman is a multiple slam champion and activist for ginger rights. Her work is funny, mostly, but with a spine of genuine pain and humiliation at the inarguable fact of her own existence. Her poetry has also been known to leave a greasy after-taste of lingering wrongness. Like a kebab.

Mark Grist is a brilliant, witty, clever, hansome poet, and one half of acclaimed spoken word outfit The Dead Poets, Poet Laureate of Peterborough in 2008, Chief Bard of the Fens in 2009 and Edinburgh Fringe Slam Champion in 2010 and Risk boardgame enthusiast... but at the moment you may know him as the english teacher guy from the rap battle video with the millions and millions of views and the articles in the guardian about it.

PLUS Open Poetry Slam

8 slots, 3 minutes, 1 winner. Sign up on the door before 8pm for the chance to win a place in the Hammer & Tongue national finals!

Price: £5.00

Time: 7:30pm
