Tim Allen is very small quite old hasn’t much hair or teeth left but still writes things called poems because poems don’t need to be big young or hairy even if they do still bite. He has a West Country accent and a default soul. His new book, ‘The Voice Thrower’ (Shearsman Feb. ’12) IS a big poem, as was last year’s ‘Anabranch with Slug’ (Knives Forks & Spoons) but his other recent poems, ‘incidental harvest’ (Oystercatcher) are small ones. Tim edited Terrible Work which gets more talked about now that it’s exited than when it existed and he runs The Language Club, a hostel for avant garde poets found wandering outside Plymouth Rail Station.

Andrea Brady is the director of the Archive of the Now (www.archiveofthenow.com <http://www.archiveofthenow.com/> ), and with Keston Sutherland runs Barque Press (www.barquepress.com <http://www.barquepress.com/> ). Her books of poems include Embrace (Object Permanence, 2005) and Vacation of a Lifetime (Salt, 2001). A long sequence of materialist history of obscurity and phosphorescence, 'Wildfire', is published on Dispatx.com Andrea's work was featured in a special issue of Chicago Review (53.1. She teaches Renaissance literature at Queen Mary, University of London.

nick-e melville is the author of selections and dissections (Otoliths 2010), a collection of visual poetry, its companion piece, this is visual poetry (Chapbook Publisher 2010), and the found collection STUFF (whirlpool press 2011). His visual work was also featured in various group exhibitions in 2011, notably thetextisthetext, poetry beyond text, and I AM NOT A POET, where he curated a two day tippex installation.
