A full collection launch from Brighton poet Lorna Thorpe accompanied by readings from Lewes poet Charlotte Gann.
Thorpe is a distinctive and powerful talent whose poetry conjures love, lust and music with naturalistic anecdotal brilliance. She will be launching her new collection Sweet Torture of Breathing (Arc), a feisty reflection on a near-death experience which encompasses therapy, drug-smuggling, angels and acupuncture.
Gann is an outstanding early career poet whose pieces provide alluring glimpses into her brilliantly imagined, novelistic and noirish vision of the Sussex landscape and its inhabitants.
