Poets from Algeria, Albania and Jordan read from and discuss their poetry, written against the backdrop of political repression.

Luljeta Lleshanaku is regarded as the leading lyric poet in Albania. She grew up under house arrest and until the early 1990s was not allowed to attend university or publish her poems. Her new collection, 'Haywire', is a Poetry Book Society recommendation.

Soleiman Adel Guemar's poetry sings of life's pleasures in the face of a violent regime.

Jordanian poet Amjad Nasser's 'Shepherd of Solitude: Selected Poems' is his first collection in English. He co-founded the Al-Quds Al-Arabi daily newspaper and has published six books of poetry.

In association with The Poetry Trust.
