This is just to say: an intimate
performance for 15 people

Exeter Phoenix Black Box

Written and performed by Hannah Jane
Walker

Saying sorry is conversational ellipsis

Saying sorry is social glue

But what if you want to apologise for
something and mean it

This is just to say is a conversation about
manipulation, Britishness, love and winning

This is just to say is instillation art,
performance poetry and good company

This is just to say is smudging its make-up,
buying bouquets and screening your calls

An intimate piece for 15 in a welcoming environment, set around a table. Pull up a chair, drink some wine and share your thoughts and ideas on the subject if you like.

This piece is about saying sorry, why we do it, and what we do when we want to apologise for things that really matter.

Hannah unpicks the fabric of her identity, reflecting on notions of cultural identity and the use/misuse of language. The self-reflective tone and activities invite the audience to reflect and share their apologies and stories.
