SpeechMotion, a film and performance night dedicated to raising the profile of emerging film-makers and performance poets.
Every month we program one Guest and one Headline to perform, as well as running a free Open Mic and Screen for anyone looking to get their words wet or their film screened.
Catherine Brogan is our wonderful host, resident poet and talent scout, responsible for finding the best performers on the circuit.

If your favourite type of event is an open, welcoming, relaxed, bohemian, multi-genre happening; if it involves pulsating poetry with professionally home-brewed short film, a well-plucked ukelele, an internationalist, Bordelaise, Berlinesque flavour; all compered by the incomparable Auld-Reekie-fringe-slam-winning Catherine Brogan who, in spite of her hitching record managed everything without a single one; all two minutes from the closest station; where on earth could you go? Erm.
Stoke Newington, of course! To Speech Motion, in fact.
Highly recommended for open mic readers.
What not to expect: rules, timekeeping, known finish time, posh seats, real ale.
What to expect: friendliness, quality, top alternative arts on draught.
