'eg poetry' is run by Tom Cunliffe who has been involved in running poetry events in Brighton for nine years.
'eg poetry' has an 'open church' philosophy strenuously avoiding a 'House style'. Friendly and welcoming our aim is to encourage local poets whilst bringing to the town fresh voices from beyond the region.
We pride ourselves on being an 'open mic' venue....funny how some established poets no longer like O/M events......We do!
During the last two years we have had 3 poets who were short listed for this years T S Eliot Prize......not bad for a non-funded body.
This is our fourth season at the Red Roaster Coffee House which has become a firm base for poetry in the city. This year ( Jan -May) we are running our events on Wednesdays.....usually the last Wed in the month...but not in March!!!
