Open Mic Event

Contact: Martin Parker: 01805-601275

Poets and acoustic musicians from Devon and beyond are invited to come along and read/play to an appreciative audience, in the gallery at Great Torrington's Plough Arts Centre.

As well as Open Mike slots, we regularly invite special guest poets to read at our monthly meetings.

Though some vacant slots may be available on the night, we ask those who want to read to book in advance by telephoning Martin Parker on 01805-601275

Each reader is allocated a five-minute slot. You can take less time than this if you want, but please make sure that the poems you plan to read (including any introduction) will not exceed this time limit. You may be offered a second five-minute slot, if it's a quiet night or there's a no-show, so you might like to have a few more poems ready.

The Plough Arts Centre is an ex-pub and drill hall situated just off the main square in the North Devon market town of Great Torrington.

Currently there is no formal charge made, either to performers or audience. However, we do hope for sensible voluntary contributions from everyone.

Entry: Free

Time: 8:00pm
