Open Mic Event

A monthly open mic, poetry & spoken word open mic event with a little music and a featured poet. New and used Spokers of Words always very welcome. And we especially love audiences too!
@Brownhills Community Centre.

Each month we have an excellent feature poet
There's *free* tea/coffee and the occasional biscuit.
Plus a bar & raffle.
Poetry books may be on offer.
Also *free* parking at the back.

This month's guest is Dan Webber an LGBT+ Spoken Word artist based in Derby.
A fringe festival veteran, in 2016 Dan was named BBC Local Poet for Derby for National Poetry Day, in February 2018 he performed as part of the 25th Birthday celebration for Leicester Comedy Festival and in 2019 competed in the inaugural Comedy Bloomers LGBT Comedian of the Year awards.
His first collection ‘Genre Fluid’ was published by Big White Shed, with support from The Big House in June 2019.
