I'm sure you are all familiar with the work of Dr. Seuss. The jaunty tales of sentient, made-up animals getting into all sorts of mischief have delighted children and adults alike for generations.

But are these delightful tales fit for a more jaded and cynical generation? Christopher Moriarty doesn't think so and has decided to...well, dismantle your childhood one poem at a time.

Christopher Moriarty is an educator and poet from Bury. Along with others, he spent six years running Bunbury Magazine, an award-winning international arts-and-literature magazine, along with accompanying podcast Bunbury Speaks. The same team also ran Just Write, a regular spoken word event in Bury, for five years.

As a poet and writer, he has performed at countless nights in the North West, as well as Edinburgh, Halifax and Swansea. His debut collection, Lightspeed, was published in 2016 by Wordcatcher Publishing.

This is an unticketed charity event in aid of Speakeasy
