Pemberton Festival presents this year’s Spoken Word event. This event will appeal to Wiganers of all ages, especially those prone to nostalgia, and to anyone who enjoys or has considered creative writing, no matter their ability.
Expect creative writing performed script-in-hand by the talented and ever popular Sunshine Writers and by Pemberton’s very own creative writing group, Pemberton Pens. Following on from this will be an open mic, open to all forms of spoken word. Bring your poems, stories and scripts or anything else you’ve jotted down. (Max 5 minutes per person).
Pemberton Festival is all about celebrating what we enjoy and trying new things, so it’s a great place for regular open-mic’ers and total newbies alike. If you’re not sure, bring your work and decide on the day!
Seating is wooden pews. This is a family friendly event, and there will be child performers (please bear this in mind when choosing your open mic material). There are toilets on site. Please contact me before hand if you have any special needs. We will accommodate whatever we can.
