Open Mic Event

Contact: antonychristie@aol.com

An evening of poetry and music at the Laurel and Hardy Museum featuring poet Nigel Pantling, whose poetry draws on his direct experience of working close to power and risk when soldiering in Northern Ireland during the height of the Troubles in the early Seventies, and in Germany during the Cold War. His first full collection, Kingdom Power Glory, published by Smith Doorstop in May 2016 takes us inside Government during the Thatcher premiership and lifts the lid from the world of the City where he worked during the years of rampant mergers and acquisitions before and after the turn of the century. Cumbrian singer John Lamb will support Nigel with his mellow repertoire of covers. All this, plus the regular floor slots for local poets and the pithy contributions of M/C Mark Carson will add up to a memorable evening's entertainment. Sign up at the door from 7.00 for the open mic.

Price: £6.00 / £5.00

Time: 7:30pm (Doors open at 7.00)
