A Poem and a Pint

This event on 29th September 2018 at 19:30 has past.

Contact: antonychristie@aol.com

An evening of poetry and music. Our featured poet Clare Shaw will read from her latest collection Flood, published this June. Its starting point is the 2015 floods that devastated her hometown of Hebden Bridge, but flood imagery is used too to explore relationships in crisis and her own struggle with mental illness. Jackie Kay called Flood 'an emotional blast of a book.' This summer Clare judged the first Poem and a Pint poetry competition; she will present the prizewinners who will read their own poetry. Music will be provided by the a capella voices of the Braddyll Friends. The M/C will be Kim Moore.

Price: £6.00 / £5.00

Time: 7:30pm (Doors open 19.00)
