Come and perform your poems at the Poetry Cafe. Bring poems on the theme of ‘Poems not Bombs’ – or just bring your lovely poems – to our poetry open mic. Sign up on the night 7pm to 7.30pm to read. Free and everyone very welcome.
Our special guest readers are Nicola Jackson and Paul McGrane, joint winners of the Geoff Stevens Memorial Poetry Prize 2017, who both have debut poetry collections with Indigo Dreams.
Nicola Jackson’s Difficult Women explores working women’s experiences. The defiant tone is testimony to women’s strength and determination in the face of the complexities of their lives.
Paul McGrane’s Elastic Man is a mix-tape of poems spanning political and romantic themes with Elvis, Tommy Cooper and Denis Norden thrown in as a bonus.
