Tongue Fu invites poets, comedians and storytellers to re-work material live with genre-hopping improvised music and film. Chris Redmond hosts Joelle Taylor, Yomi Sode, Toby Campion and Bethany Black.

Chris Redmond - spoken word poet, storyteller and Fu founder, published by Burning Eye with a sideline in music making for the likes of Improbable and the BBC. ‘…a wordsmith wizard’ The Poetry Book Society

Joelle Taylor - award winning poet, playwright and author who has performed everywhere from BBC, the Royal Court to Pentonville Prison. A champion of young UK poets for 20+ years, her latest collection, Songs My Enemy Taught Me is published by Outspoken Press.

Yomi Sode - poet, storyteller and theatre maker whose show COAT sells out in minutes every time! Founder of Boxed In, he’s opened for Saul Williams and the Last Poets and has performed on Ch4, BBC R1Xtra, at Sadlers Wells, Lovebox and the UN.

Toby Campion - a UK National Poetry Slam Champion and resident artist at the Roundhouse, his work has been featured on BBC Radio 2, Channel 4 and ITV and he’s performed across Europe, the US and South Korea.

Bethany Black - actor, writer and comedian who’s debut show BETH BECOMES HER detailed the story of her being transgender. A stand up comedian since 2004, her TV work includes roles in Doctor Who (BBC) and Cucumber, Banana and Tofu (Ch4).

The Tongue Fu band feature players including Riaan Vosloo, Arthur Lea, Pat Davey, Belle Ehresmann (Bellatrix), Dave O’Brien and Jon Cox, whose collective credits include Nostalgia 77, Puppini Sisters, Beardyman DreamTeam, Mad Professor, Massive Attack, Jamie Cullum and many more.

Animations / visuals by David Cuesta - creative director of CR&D - one of London's leading independent design companies.

This show is part seated, part standing. Please get there early to guarantee a seat.
