Chris Martin: 'Rain Dance' (Work-in-Progress)

In the work-in-progress solo show ‘Rain Dance’, Chris Martin explores his own experiences of mental health through poems and storytelling.

This is not a survivor story; this is an everyday story about living in a country where 1 in 4 people experience mental health difficulties, and where suicide is the biggest killer of men under 45. Chris promises you will laugh at least twice despite this.

Chris Martin is a poet and performer based in the Midlands. He has won slams and read at festivals, and his often-irreverent work has been used in both GCSE textbooks and pub arguments.

'Chris’ work is fun, thoughtful, intelligent and reliably well-crafted' – Jess Green

'Chris is one of the most captivating and inventive poets I have had the pleasure of sharing the stage with. The spectrum of emotions he can take you through in one poem alone is staggering, and his energy is totally contagious' – Charley Genever.

This event is part of Little Ed Fringe Festival. It is programmed by Furthest from the Sea Music, Comedy & Arts CIC with support from Big Lottery Fund, FFTS Events Ltd and Cathedral Quarter Derby.
