Bert Flitcroft was Staffordshire Poet Laureate 2015-17 during which time he curated 'The Staffordshire Poetry Collection', which is now available on-line. He is an experienced and accomplished poet who for some time has been quietly and unassuming spreading the poetry word. He ran, for a number of years, week-long residential poetry-writing courses for sixth-formers in Staffordshire, working alongside guest poets in residence such as Carol Ann Duffy, Adrian Henry, Linda France and others. In 2015, he was Poet -In-Residence at The Southwell Poetry Festival, in 2016, was Poet-In-Residence at The Wedgwood Museum in Stoke-On-Trent and in 2017 was Poet-In-Residence at The Brampton Museum in Newcastle under Lyme. He has performed at a number of national Festivals including the Edinburgh Fringe twice (as a 'Blackwell's Writer), Birmingham, Lichfield, Stoke, Ilkley, Buxton, Stafford as well reading at The Door at The Birmingham Rep.

Marion Cockin was born in Wednesday in the Black Country. Her work has been published widely in magazines and anthologies. She has performed her work regularly in the West Midlands. Although she writes often on historical or mythological subjects, her first collection is closer to home. The Nailmakers' Daughters, published by Offa's Press written with Emma Purshouse and Iris Rhodes and edited by Jane Seabourne, is a celebration of life in the Black Country past and present.
