The Spread the Word Literature Festival is quickly becoming one of the largest children's festivals to run on World Book Day in the UK. It hosts over 2500 school children in the Merthyr Tydfil area, with over 320 workshops in 19 venues. Spread the Word 2018 will land on St. David's Day, making this year's theme all things Welsh. Former National Poet of Wales Gillian Clarke will be performing at the festival.
