Please come and join us at the County Hotel for an evening of poetry and performance.

Joe Williams and Alicia Fernández are here for the northeastern launch of their new books, 'Killing the Piano' and 'If Moments Were Places', published by Half Moon Books. Each of them will be reading a selection of poems.

Alicia was born and raised in Spain and is now based in Leeds. Joe grew up in Hexham but also now lives in Leeds. Both have been published in numerous anthologies, in literary magazines, and online.

Support comes from Lorna Faye Dunsire, another Yorkshire poet with connections to Hexham, and the evening will be compered by well-known northeast writer Harry Gallagher, who will also be reading from his new collection, 'Northern Lights'.

There are open mic spots available. Just sign up with Harry when you arrive if you'd like to read a poem or two of your own.

Entry is free, and there's no need to book in advance. The venue is close to the rail and bus stations, and there's plenty of parking nearby.
