Open Mic Event
The Poetry Green Room is a welcoming and supportive Poetry Open Mic that encourages both new and existing performers to develop through experimentation, feedback, and support.
The night consists of:
The New Performers Section - This is perfect for those that haven't yet plucked up the courage to get on stage, or have only recently begun performing. We will give you basic performance advice prior to your performance. But there's no pressure here, you can mess up, you can forget your lines, it doesn't matter. Everyone starts somewhere and we're here to egg you on!
The Practice Section - So you've been doing this a while, but you're still not 100% confident with your performance. Maybe one line in particular keeps tripping you up? Maybe you would like to bring more energy into your performance but are a little apprehensive? This section is for you. We will give you tips and advice on how to develop your performance.
The Experiment Section - Are you looking to piece together a support or headline set but need to practice? Or are you keen to experiment with music, props, or other art forms? Then this section is for you. We'll give you feedback and advice on how to approach promoters, with suggestions and contacts for nights around the UK.
In the intervals and at the end of the night we encourage performers and audience members to chat about the performances, support each other, discuss collaborations, and give advice.
Sign up on the event wall (stating which section you'd like to perform in), or email firstname.lastname@example.org
(sign-ups also taken on the door if not full)
You don't need to perform to come along! Audience welcome.
Exceptionally cheap drinks!
Every 2nd Saturday at The Green Room Club, 33 Tentercroft St, (opposite the bus station) Lincoln.
