Scribblers ahoy!
Goodness, we are now reaching the end of summer and approaching the last four months of the year. How time flies, as the little boy exclaimed, as he threw the bedside clock from an upstair window.
Co-op Writers York are holding a writers workshop at The Royal Oak on Goodramgate in York, on Sunday, 3rd September, 4.30-7.30pm. We will most probably be downstairs in the Snug which is on your right, to the right of the stairs as you enter the pub.
Do please come along with your scribblings of the summer. Please remember that this is a workshop, which means that work doesn't haven't to be finished or polished and that we exist to help you address difficulties, to try to make constructive suggestions or simply lend a sympathetic ear.
We also exist to support all categories of writer in their writing, but on one condition, which is that you respect our ethos which is to support writers in their writing regardless of their person and that you don't give utterance or bring material that doesn't respect this ethos of supportive criticism regardless of sex and sexuality, ethnicity, religious and political belief, provided that this political or religious belief does not consist in defaming or denigrating others on these grounds.
As usual, please try to bring 5 or 6 copies of your work, which shouldn't exceed more than 2,000 words or four sides of A4. Please bring £2 if you're waged, otherwise £1.
Enjoy the rest of your summer. Let's hope it's an Indian one extending to the October workshop!
