All will be welcome to the launch of Burglar: 45 Slight Poems, published by Lapwing.
Graham Buchan thinks of this as his silly book. It is full of poems which are tongue-in-cheek, a bit scurrilous, a bit rude, a bit anti-poetry even, and most of them rhyme. They are the sort of poems, spanning the last twenty years, which he injects into a reading when he feels there has been too much doom and gloom. They include such profound offerings as Cannibal, Shakespeare re-writes Hamlet and A Bi Polar Bear.
Guests will be encouraged to read any non-gloomy poems of their own, and will secure a hefty discount on the price of the book if they do. Responsible beer drinking will be encouraged.
