She studied poetry in England, and her poems have appeared in journals such as The Poetry Review, PN Review, The Dark Horse, Verse Daily, Ambit, Agenda, The Raintown Review, The Best Australian Poems of 2011, and The Best Australian Poems of 2015. Sarah Westcott’s first poetry collection Slant Light was published by Pavilion Poetry in 2016. A poem from the book was Highly Commended in the 2017 Forward Prizes. Poet Jacob Polley described Slant Light as “fierce with intelligence, compassion and the sheer exuberance of attending to what Hopkins called ‘the dearest freshness deep down things’."Sarah was a poet-in-residence at the Bethnal Green Nature Reserve in London in 2015 and is currently Manchester Cathedral poet of the year.

Sarah Corbett's fourth book, a verse-novel, And She Was, was published by Pavilion Poetry in 2015. Her three previous collections are published by Seren books, Other Beasts (2008), The Witch Bag (2002), and The Red Wardrobe (1998), which was shortlisted for the Forward and T.S. Eliot prizes. A fifth collection of poems is forthcoming from Pavilion in 2018. Sarah teaches Creative Writing for Lancaster University and works widely in the community and with other writers and artists; she is currently working on a project for The Wordsworth Trust in collaboration with the landscape painter Zoe Benbow, supported by Arts Council England.
