Scribblers ahoy!
I was going misty-eyed over daffies, wood anenomes and forsythia, then it started tipping it down. Quite extinguished my joys of Spring.
Maintaining the traditional format of participating writers' work being the centre-piece for this workshop, please note that we meet on the second Sunday in April (9th).
We are booked in the upstairs Function Room of The Royal Oak, but please keep your eyes peeled in case we're shunted downstairs to The Snug.
As is customary, please try to bring 5 or 6 copies of your work or excerpt (for longer pieces of writing), to confine it to four sides of A4 or 2,000 words or less. Please also bring £2 is you're waged, otherwise £1.
Also please remember the ethos of this workshop is support for writers and their writing. Please keep criticism constructive.

PS We hope we'll be joined at the June workshop by poet and artist Helen Burke presenting her work.
Helen was born in Doncaster to Irish parents in 1953. A number of chapbooks, including Book of Beyond, Island of Dreams, Zuzus Petals, And God said Let There Be Chocolate, and Americana, are from Krazy Phils Press. Her full-length collections of poetry are The Ruby Slippers (Scarborough, Valley Press, 2011); and Here’s Looking at You Kid (Valley Press, 2014). She has won a number of awards, including the Manchester Poetry Prize, the Suffolk Poetry Prize, and the Ilkley Literature Performance Poetry Prize (twice). Also an artist, she has had poems set to music by an Australian orchestra and has performed with jazz, rock and folk musicians, with an especial reference to Irish folk musicians.
