Do like laughing? Hohoho. Do you love words and big ideas and stories about courgettes and heartbreak, for example? Then you’ll love ThePaperCut- Wigan’s only live literature and comedy night compered by the beautifully talented Chris Boyle. www.theoldcourts.com
But what is it though? You can expect two special guests. Oh yes. SPECIAL GUESTS. The best comedy talent, spoken word super stars and story tellers the UK has to offer. Each offering you 15-20 minutes of their genius. January jollies with Jollyboat comedy songs and the effervescent poet Dominic Berry.
You can expect local talent. 5 minute slots. Poets, stand-up comedy virgins, real-life stories, famous monologues and short stories. We’ll give spot prizes for beautiful lines, great ideas and other stuff.
Can I join in? You can book an open mic slot by emailing louisef@theoldcourts.com and there will be limited first-come-first-served slots available on the evening. Venue 3 min from both train stations and bus station.
Can I just watch? Of course! We love audiences and new faces.
Is it full of people like me? Yes.
