Open Mic Event

Our welcoming and warm audience make an evening at BEYOND WORDS a great night out.

We meet on the first Tuesday every month. Doors open at 7.25 for a 7.30 start

The back room of The Gipsy Hill Tavern transforms to an intimate candle lit venue where open-mic innocents and well known poets rub shoulders and share the spotlight.

Each month invited poets read for us and we regularly showcase some of our poets from the floor so that they share the 'headlines'.

7th November 2017

KEI MILLER is a powerful and stimulating poet, novelist and essayist, who has won a number of literary prizes including The Forward Prize for his collection 'The Cartographer Tries to Map a Way to Zion.' He has 'poems that pull you in and an effortless virtuosity that detains you, enraptured.'
Also
KATHERINE LOCKTON will showcase her insightful poems, a treat for us as she steps away from her usual role editing South Bank Poetry Magazine and running poetry workshops in London.

Please do bring your own writing to share at the open-mic.

Entry: £4 / £3

Time: 7.30
