WORD CLUB 9 will take place on Friday 25th September 2015, from 7.30 pm, at The Chemic Tavern, Leeds. Our headliners this month are Antony Dunn, Oz Hardwick and Tom Weir. We will be graced with the usual crew of ultra-talented open micers that any Literary event would be proud of too!

Antony Dunn lives in Leeds. He has published three collections of poems, Pilots and Navigators (Oxford University Press 1998), Flying Fish (Carcanet OxfordPoets 2002) and Bugs (Carcanet OxfordPoets 2009) and a fourth is on its way. This November sees the publication of Ex Libris - poems by David Hughes (1952 - 2011), edited with an introduction by Antony Dunn. Antony is a regular tutor for The Poetry School and the Arvon Foundation, and is Artistic Director of Bridlington Poetry Festival. www.antonydunn.org

Oz Hardwick is a poet, photographer, journalist & academic, with occasional delusions of musical competence. His poetry collections have received broad acclaim, leavened by a healthy little dose of less enthusiastic criticism, and he's won all sorts of stuff (raffles, crosswords, occasional poetry competitions). He doesn't do 'performance' but has read his work in venues large and small - some ridiculously large, some positively tiny - from Scotland to Cornwall, as well as in Europe and the US.

Tom Weir was born in Guisbrorough in 1980. His poetry has featured in various magazines and journals including the anthologies: Lung Jazz; Young British Poets for Oxfam, the 2014 National Poetry Competition winners’ anthology and this year’s Forward Prize anthology. His pamphlet, ‘The Outsider,’ was one of the twowinners of the 2014 Templar IOTA shots competition and his first full collection, ‘All That Falling,’ was brought out by Templar earlier this year. He currently works as a Primary School teacher in Keighley but, as a founder member of AFC Wimbledon, still eagerly awaits the call to become their first poet laureate.
