WORD CLUB 7 will take place on Friday 31st July 2015, from 7.30 pm, at The Chemic Tavern, Leeds. Our headliners this month are Siobhan Mac Mahon, Andrew Brown and Ian Whitely, as well as the usual crew of ultra-talented open micers that would grace any Literary event!
Siobhan Mac Mahon is an Irish Performance Poet, living in Yorkshire, she performs widely in England, Ireland and Europe. Siobhan has been writing and performing her poetry, collaborating with other artists and creating mayhem/Spoken word projects for over 20 years, including the Arts Council funded projects - The Mouth of the Cave and Voices of Women. Andrew Brown’s debut collection or Poems and short stories was published by Stairwell Books in 2014. ‘Skydive – Leaping from the ledge’, reminds us that life is about change and coping with change, learning and forgetting as we grow from childhood and mature into old age.
Ian Whiteley is a performance poet from Wigan and also fronts a poetry/music project under the name The Crows Of Albion. His first collection of poetry, ‘A Step Towards Winter’ was published in 2013 as well as the first ‘Crows’ CD ‘Poetic License’. He released a second CD in November 2014 ‘Still In The War Boys’ which is a collection of first world war poems set to acoustic and rock backing tracks. He is also part of a performance poetry group, Bard Company, with fellow north west poets Jefferama!, Gordon Zola and Tony Kinsella.His website is: http://www.thecrowsofalbion.com/
