Poetry Out Loud Semifinals

Teachers are welcome to bring classes for a field trip to the daytime semifinals of Poetry Out Loud: National Recitation Contest. Maryland, Virginia, and DC champions will compete in the first round, from 9 am to 12 pm. The semifinals will be hosted by Elizabeth Acevedo, Josephine Reed, Stephen F. Schmidt and judged by Niki Herd, Adrian Matejka, Will McInerney, Celeste Mendoza, Philippa Hughes, Naomi Ayala, Joshua Weiner, Anderson Wells, Dan Brady, Teri Cross Davis, Hannah Sanghee Park, and Rowan Ricardo Phillips.
