Local poet & professor Martha Modena Vertreace-Doody reads from her latest book, In this Glad Hour and take us back in time to the beginning of Illinois statehood based on the diary of Mrs. Joseph Duncan whose views on educating women and freeing the slaves were ahead of her time. Part of the City Verse poetry celebration.
