The 1000 Monkeys (Dónall Dempsey and Jan Windle) are into their third year of running this popular spoken word night in the comfortable elegant environment of the Bar des Arts opposite the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre and Debenham's, in Guildford.
Come and sign up for a five minute open mic spot before we start at 7.30, or email us in advance. The Bar Des Arts is that rare thing, a bar where your poems will be attentively heard and fully appreciated, whatever the content. We have invited three guests who have longer sets: Eddie Chauncy from Guildford, Cat Randle from Andover and Claire Saponia, a visitor from Berlin.
And we're looking out for those poems that could be published when we next edit a short anthology, in June 2015.
It's all about the words - come and read, perform or just listen with a glass or a cup of something in your hand, and relax midweek. Bring friends or meet friends - all welcome.
