After a successful sell-out show in Marsden back in May, The Firm return after a summer of highly acclaimed festival appearances, which culminated in the release of their debut anthology 'Holding Your Hand Through Hard Times' at the Wakefield Lit Fest in September.

Hailed as the "word of mouth sensation" at both Beacons Festival and Musicport, The Firm also appeared at Harrogate International Festival, Holmfirth Arts Festival, Grassington Festival and LS6 Beer Fest. They also attracted record numbers to The Hepworth Wakefield on an ArtwalkWakefield night.

The Firm have also shared a stage with globally renowned poets Rommi Smith, Helen Mort, John Hegley and most recently the Mercury Prize-nominated Kate Tempest.

PRAISE FOR THE BOOK SO FAR:

"These are poems that stop traffic, consider themselves ruined, pump blood, throw out all the love songs and write them from scratch. They are 'brave as a robin in hail’, full of words that will ‘hold / you through / the hard times.' Dive in." - Helen Mort

"This is proper, visceral stuff about real life. Poetry for the rest of us. Long live The Firm." - Luke Wright

"this is a ****ing brilliant collection of poems and i don't do flattery" - Mike Garry - Poet

PRAISE FOR THE LIVE SHOW:

"A Firm of Poets provides an evening's entertainment full of charm, warmth and humour in equal measure - not to be missed." - Porl Cooper, Slung Low

"Wonderfully dynamic" - The Press (York)

The Housekeeping Society features musicians Ric Neale and Ivan Mack.

Since forming in 2010 they have been involved in a wide range of musical projects. Their first two albums were song-cycles that took different sets of stories as their base - 'This Way To Power' was informed by stories of late 19th-Century Northern England mill-town communities, while 'Postcards' looked at the rise and fall of the English seaside. Their third offering 'Songs From The Orange Dog' featured songs written to accompany ‘Dancing With The Orange Dog’; a production from 154 Collective with whom they then toured a number of theatres (funded by the Arts Council). The band have also provided a soundtrack to the contemporary dance film 'Let Bygones Be' (funded by the BBC Performing Arts Fund) and created soundscapes, along with poet Ralph Dartford, for visual artist Pete Mckee Art’s exhibition 'Thud, Crackle, Pop'.
