In partnership with Writing East Midlands, Arvon will be bringing the magic of our renowned writing courses to The Collection, Lincoln for a weekend of poetry writing.
Maybe you’ve dipped your toes into poetry before and would like explore further? Or perhaps you’ve been writing for years but are now stuck in a rut? This course will help you take your poetry writing in new directions through a dynamic combination of workshops, tutorials and personal writing time.
Join leading poets Cathy Grindrod and Daljit Nagra at our inspiring Lincoln venue and immerse yourself in the art and craft of the poem.
Daljit Nagra: “A poem is a collaboration between the poet and the reader. The poet leaves rewards along the path of the poem to help the reader to continue the journey. To help the reader enjoy the experience of the poem the poet must ensure the poem is well crafted and appropriately open-ended and subtle. This fun interactive course will teach you some of the methods for enriching your poems and help you to develop further confidence in your poetry writing.”
The course will take place at The Collection, an award winning archaeology museum combined with the region’s premier art gallery, the Usher Gallery, in the heart of historic Lincoln.
The fee of £280 includes workshops, individual tutorials, lunch and dinner each day and tutor and guest readings. This is a non-residential course and numbers are limited to 16.
