Tipsy literary evening Words on Tap works up a thirst for Friday July 26th at The Chemic Tavern, Leeds.
With an eclectic (yet all male) showcase of poets, featuring Antony Dunn, Ian Parks, William Thirsk-Gaskill, Ian Harker and Ash Dickinson. Plus, limited open mic slots. Admission is FREE, but doors are 7.30pm.

Antony Dunn has published three collections of poems, Pilots and Navigators (Oxford University Press 1998), Flying Fish (Carcanet OxfordPoets 2002) and Bugs (Carcanet OxfordPoets 2009). He is Director of the Bridlington Poetry Festival. www.antonydunn.org

Ian Parks' latest collection, The Cavafy Variations, is a Poetry Book Society Choice. His collections include Shell Island, Love Poem 1979-2009, The Landing Stage, and The Exile's House. He is the editor of Versions of the North: Contemporary Yorkshire Poetry. He was writer in residence at Glasdstone's Library in 2012 and is currently Writing Fellow at De Montfort University, Leicester.

William Thirsk-Gaskill was born in Leeds in 1967. He writes short fiction and poetry, much of which deals with the fragile and impermanent state of things and the passing of time. He co-hosts a monthly radio programme called Themes for Dreamers, broadcast from Halifax, with the poet Gaia Holmes. He will be appearing at the Ilkley Literature Festival in October. His favourite kind of audience to read poetry to is 40-something women who have drunk too much Merlot.

Ian Harker was born and lives in Leeds. He was a runner-up in the James Kirkup Memorial Poetry Competition 2012, his work has appeared in Agenda and Other Poetry, is forthcoming in Stand, and features in Versions of the North, the first anthology of Northern-based poets in thirty years. He edits for the Cadaverine.

Ash Dickinson is a writer, poet and comedy performer. A multiple slam champion- including Edinburgh and Cheltenham- he won the BBC Radio 4 Midlands Slam in 2009. In the previous BBC National Slam in 2007 he progressed through the Scottish heats, eventually finishing among the top 8 in the UK. Ash was the 2011 UK All Stars Slam runner-up. He has been widely published in newspapers, magazines and poetry presses. Ash's debut collection, "Slinky Espadrilles", was published by Burning Eye Books in 2012.
