American poet Jodie Hollander was raised in a family of classical musicians. Her work has been published in journals such as The Poetry Review, PN Review, The Dark Horse, The Rialto, Verse Daily, The New Criterion, The Manchester Review, Australia’s Best Poems of 2011, and Australia’s Best Poems of 2015. Her debut pamphlet, The Humane Society, was released with tall-lighthouse in 2012; her full-length collection, My Dark Horses, has just been released with Liverpool University Press.

Sarah Westcott’s first poetry collection Slant Light was published by Pavilion Poetry in 2016. A poem from the book was Highly Commended in the 2017 Forward Prizes. Poet Jacob Polley described Slant Light as “fierce with intelligence, compassion and the sheer exuberance of attending to what Hopkins called ‘the dearest freshness deep down things’."Sarah was a poet-in-residence at the Bethnal Green Nature Reserve in London in 2015 and is currently Manchester Cathedral poet of the year.

The Months (Bloodaxe, 2016) is Susan Wicks’ seventh full collection of poems, and was a Poetry Book Society Recommendation. Many of the poems are about time – not only the attritions of time, its ageings, conflicts and illnesses, but also, and more importantly, about the way our human time can seem to speed up or slow down, expand and contract, measured by perceptual rather than scientific laws. At the centre of the collection, the long title-poem interweaves material from two pregnancies spanning two generations: these months open themselves up to insecurities and dreams, culture, myth, everyday realities and moments of fear and delight.
