A night of music, poetry, comedy and storytelling devoted to the works of Bob Dylan and Dylan Thomas, on the very special occasion of the awarding of Dylan’s Nobel Prize. In memory of Leonard Cohen and celebrating the vitality of poetry as a way of life!

On the night of the Nobel Prize Ceremony awarding Bob Dylan the Nobel Prize for Literature, we will be reprising the fondly regarded variety night Bob Dylan Thomas, celebrating in song and performance the works and words of Bob Dylan and Dylan Thomas in the pub where Dylan Thomas met his wife Caitlin.

An eclectic festival of words and music, Bob Dylan Thomas will feature:

Jack Harris, “a priest of song who holds himself to a rigorous, ancient code of beauty most of us have forgotten exists.” — Anaïs Mitchell
Yo Zushi, "the spirit of Bob Dylan for the 21st century" - Mary Anne Hobbs
Niall McDevitt, poetopographer and activist
The House Band, ragbag of latter day Wilburys AJ Dehany, Phoebe Martha, Gerv, Arps & James
Rotten Bliss’s Losers Choir performing an a cappella Requiem for Leonard Cohen
Tess In Venice, charting the scars of the psyche
Daniel Cross (Little Death Machine), brutalist sonic pioneer
Donald Newholm III, the human mouth of Pig With The Face Of A Boy
Jack’s Hit, the human body of Kevin Davidson
Jazzman John Clarke, the spirit of verbal bebop
Andrew Wyld performing “Eighteen Straight Whiskies” (the Death of Dylan Thomas)

Plus earnest debate around Dylan’s Nobel Prize win, the streaming of his speech if he makes one, possible opportunity for floor spots & more besides!

There will also be a radio interview and performances on the deXter Bentley show on Resonance 104.4FM between 1200 and 1330 on the same day.
Highlights from the night will be broadcast in a one-hour radio special on Resonance 104.4FM at 8pm on Friday 16 December.
There is a specially curated mixtape Post Dylan Thomas Volume 2 featuring new sonic and musical reworkings of Dylan Thomas’s writings.
