May Daze and Maypoles (Bank Holidays and traditional springs)

Led by the Black Country Living Museum’s poet-in-residence, Dave Reeves, 'May Daze & Maypoles' is part of a series of spoken word events which encourage people to read their own poems and tell their own stories in a friendly convivial atmosphere. Come along with your real life stories of how you spent Mayday, Spring Bank Holidays or, perhaps, your springing was on a pogo stick?

Come for the telling: come for the listening. Poems, Life stories, reminiscences and tall tales, speech and song, story and verse, write it down, tell from memory or off the cuff – everything and everyone welcome.
We’ll meet in the reception area of the Black Country Living Museum at 2.00pm and will then go together to the Bottle & Glass pub, where a room is reserved for the event.

We look forward to hearing your tales.

[Fireside Tales is a place to share and preserve stories. Can you tell a good story? Have you got stories to tell from your life? We are looking for people to join us with stories and poems based on real-life which tie in with the theme that each event will have.]

Price: £3.00

Time: 2:00pm
