Anthony. Thank you very much for your very kind words on 'Another Grey Day'. There is indeed a lot to be said for the 'Rockfords' ;)
I like to think we all have a touch of the Peter Pan syndrome within us.
I would also like to say that 'Visiting Neil' is such a wonderful and moving piece of work.
Sincerely.

Hi Anthony.

Having now read your paradise poem. (lovely piece) t
Together with mine, both give the impression ones final years are not much fun.

On the contrary performing the last act myself I find the general demeanor to be one of cheerful optimism, right up until the inevitable, despite varying levels of physical discomfort.

Not a long tear soaked episode in anticipation of an agonizing end.

Hi Anthony, I see that Simon Armitage has announced his itinerary for his south-west walk, and will be calling in at the Plough arts centre in Great Torrington, which I believe is your neck of the woods, on Tuesday September 3. Will you be going along, by any chance? http://www.writeoutloud.net/public/blogentry.php?blogentryid=38194

Anthony,
I presume you already know of it...But MAGMA are having a `shaped` poetry competition.

They say they `welcome` unpublished stuff, but don`t seem to put a specific bar on blog stuff
(I.M.O.)

The problem is that the words are so confoundedly difficult to squeeze in to the shape legibly.

Hello AE,
Thanks for your thoughts on "Fairytale of New Britain". Whilst I take a more "personal responsibility" view of the state of the nation, I do like the idea of a contest between parliament and poets. Of course, we have elected them to parliament but appointed ourselves as poets. Perhaps a more democratic method of determining poets/poetry might not be a bad idea?

Hello Anthony. Many thanks for your kind comments on And Trio's.
I am embarrassed by the sentiments of some of the commentors who have all assumed that the piece is biographical.
I will of course explain to each, however I have not experienced a tragedy, but have merely been inspired by the potential of one.

Thank you once again for your feedback.

Very best regards,

Graham

It is doubly pleasurable to get positive feedback from those whose work I also enjoy.
I was blessed with inspiration in getting the
words and "traditional" feel I sought and hope
to get it commercially recorded one of these
days. It's about "travelling in hope", I guess.
Enjoy your Christmas!

Seasons Greetings, AE,
Thanks for your thoughts on my "Red Wheelbarrow".
Liked the joke too. I used to think that monologue about an Irish brickie getting hoist up on a rope which had the wheelbarrow attached to the other end was hilarious when I was a kid. He fell, landed, the barrow fell, he went up, the barrow landed, spilled the bricks, barrow went up, he came down etc. (I suppose you had to be there!)

Hello Anthony,
Yes, I too have been in the dark about women's parts for a lifetime. Our Gert enters the bedroom fully clothed, the light goes off and miraculously she seems to have changed into an impenetrable body stocking when she gets in bed.
My knowledge of ladies underclothes therefore comes from hours spent in Primark fondling bras and panties.

Hi Anthony, thx for looking at the Ted poem. lol. I am just getting over the man flu actually but this has no bearing on my use of rhyme. (It has happened before). Thx so much for your observations. Ramsons is indeed the correct spelling for the wild onion so common in Colden valley. Although there is no rhyme scheme as such there are lots of half-rhymes in this. I don't find 'spotlight' such a jar but will look agian. Many thx. Win

Anthony,
Just viewed your `Genesis` again and having third thoughts,

I think the second ones were just age (and a bug) Looking at it again it seems that the build of pressure to use the `media` style of `production` will probably become too great to resist....I just worry that it may become something of a welter and that the more thoughtful kinds of poem might suffer by being
under produced....I`ve had some experience of playwriting and I know how much the `show not tell` is to the fore, and that this pictorial `showing` (even with the reproduced words) is still - with the music and colour - the strongest element of the `produced` poem. I fear sometimes in the direction of emotion rather than thought.

I know all this makes me an old fogey and that I`m swimming against the tide here.

Incidently, regarding your `Genesis` poem:
Did you see the Horizon thing `What happened before the big bang`...It was hilarious! what with the `inflation` theory, or the big bangy sort of `evolutionary` theory those guys are getting themselves into a right pickle (the only thing that seems to be certain is that the actual Big Bang Theory has died the death. A good job you didn`t plant any flags
Cheers Harry.

Hi Anthony. Thank you for the welcome back, though I'm not sure whether I am 'back'. It's been very busy for a long time but this past week I've been stuck at my mum's being a carer after she's had an op. Read about Pessoa, got interested, found I could dredge up my WOL password, and here I am.
