Hi Ann. Thank you so much for your nice comments on my poem, "A Silly Poem About Hair".
My hair has actually always been straight and easily tangled.
I got the idea from an old high school newspaper.
I think your hair is very pretty, goes nice with your face.
Thanks
Shirley

Hi Ann,

I hope all is well with you. Just to let you know that I won't be able to make St. Agnes next Tuesday as I will be away in Cumbria. I was really looking forward to your event and to meeting you. Nevertheless I wish you great success with the evening and hope that there might be a repeat - which I will be free for!

Best regards and sincere apologies,

A.E. X

Barefoot Self... I thought I had to tell you that like Coromandel & Visiting Neil by Anthony Emmerson, (and some others) this poem goes beyond the realms of good/really good and for me attains something else close to perfection. I also don't know whether you know yourself what you've got here, but for me it's a masterpiece like Coromandel. It's not just great it's fabulous because you've gone beyond cleverness & wit & beauty & have successfully encapsulated emotions & your words are able to re-awaken those emotions, which I think is very rare. Being blunt (& serious for once) - tell me yourself - do you realise yourself just how good this is ? I'm genuinely interested. XX B

Hi Ann Glad you're into Strictly! Yes, Lulu looks good. I think I might be suppoorting Holly, but it will depend who is the best at dancing. I hate the 'cult of personality' and hope the GBP won't keep voting in some joker!

Hi Ann Glad you liked 'Chez Maxe'. I posted it on WOL so that I could then link it to my Face Book page in order to celebrate the new series of STRICTLY COME DANCING. I've probably destroyed my reputation in certain circles, but I'm a real fan of it!

Hi Ann. Thank you for responding to my comment.
I listened to your "Silly Housework" poem. It's great. I love your voice.
Being from America I don't get to here voices like yours often. My accent can best be described as slight southern. I grew up in Texas and Arkansas.
Your poem has inspired me to add a silly poem of my own. It will probably be in about a week.

Thanks
Shirley

My daughter got married last Friday and I had to buy a suit to give her away, my first one for eleven years. Haven't got many decent pictures of myself, usually on holiday and with sunglasses on.

By the way absolutely loved the last poem Ann, the weight of sentiment was bang on the money and the last lines were wonderful. Great work.

I lost internet connection just as I was posting it, so it didn't all come through.
I think you must be a secret Trucker's Moll, what with all the interest you showed Thomas about the poem!
Would you settle for having "Foxy Lady" painted on the side of my wagon?

Alternatively, if it's less trouble (all that damming rivers etc) I'd settle for a Viking send-off. Funeral pyre pushed into the River Aire, floating downstream, archer lets fly a fire arrow and WHOOSH! Up I go.
You must have seen The Vikings with Tony Curtis and Kirk Douglas?

..hello Ann...I knew it was confusing. It's about Jean Peters. I saw her in 'Pickup on South Street' on tele' a few weeks ago. I wrote it quickly last night while watching this tribute to her two or three times on 'youtube',
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ajl9UEoQdeg
then in the last verse added it to real memories...cheers..chris.
