Thanks for your kind comments on my Ghazal. It's a bit of a cheat really, I wrote it ages ago, long before WOL, it was one of my very first experiments with writing poetry. Traditionally Ghazal's are always about love..longing and separation, though that tradition seems to be slipping a bit as more folks experiment with them. I really, really was lost when I wrote it...not so lost now. : )

Awww! me poor(old? nay lass!)Yanty! the only advice I can give you is get a beechams down yer cakehole and double up on the baby-gro,s..even if they do clash with the yellow/green mules clacking up and down the High Street-no seriously-ahem-beechams are brill(IMHO)love the snuggy fox pikky/image-ta chudgy-Mr Snifan Wilde-xxps can I have a long distance clap for doing me monthly 24 tins of cat food donation for our local sanctuary(Bleakholt)-I bung it in their bin in Asda-which neatly leads on to a related funny incident-did the same last month as they were bringing new stock in-and put it all around the donations bin-I had to climb a dirty great mountain of boxes to put the tins in-and! got bleedin trapped between two bleedin palettes of stuff(Mr Bean or wot!)to make you laugh yer phlegm up,heres another Mr Bean tale-neighbour of ours has a sloping driveway-(upwards)and was struggling to get kiddy in pram up it cos of the ice etc-so Mr Bean to the rescue! I remembered we had a log night night before and the ash pan(as in fire ashes-not meat n two veg)was full-so I scattered a huge amount of ash all over the icy slope-to my 'orror I had completely overlooked the fact that I had also been burning lots of d-i-y bits of wood etc(there is an end to this)which in turn were full of nails and screws! I spent half an hour picking all the nails/screws out of the ash,just in time before her hubby came down in his new car-otherwise..pop!..pop!..pop!..pop! not including the spare wheel-thats in the boot-I say this because you are a pedestrian and might not know..tee hee..do I get the clowns crown for my Mr Beanings? wot a plonker! you can go back to your lemsip now-tattybye! Thanks for your comment about the photo Ann. One of my favourites with my granddaughter, who I miss loads when I am in France. another photo of her coming up when I get round to finishing a short piece about skipping all the way to school with her yesterday.

Joke explanation for she who has been too cosseted-or is that corseted? soldier tells comrade he would rather be in bed with a book and a big busty blonde than on the battlefield-his buddy astounded that he even thinks about taking a book to bed when he has more than enough to occupy mind-(and body)remarks that the book must be a very good read that it distracts him from carnal activities-the first soldier replys who said I could read...it was supposed to impress the naughty lady....gerrit? Thank you for your kind observations on my 're-mix'. I am happier with it and I think it stands up (so to speak) as a poem. It is a bit odd plagiarising ones self but oddly satisfying. Hi Ann,
Thanks for reading and commenting on 'Miles of Space Between Us' - I loved your interpretation of it. I hadn't thought of it as being about separation from my children, but when I re-read it myself in that light it made perfect sense, and could actually apply equally to many people in my life - both now and in the past. Particularly as I get older, I feel I want to hang on to the people I love a bit more - you lose people for all sorts of reasons and in all sorts of ways - and some of them leave huge holes in your life that are just not adequately filled by the cat.
Anyway - having said all that - I've actually removed the poem, but your input has been much appreciated.

I see what you mean. it is a huge cliches but I feel that each couplet in that is a cliches maybe. When I first wrote that poem I played about with the punctuation but it didn't seem to work in practice. On the page people seemed confused and when I read it out I left a full stop beat.
