Thanks Isobel for your kind comments on "Flesh", glad you like the re-write. To be honest, I wondered about the 6th stanza myself, and couldn't decide whether to keep it in or not. It's always true people will think differently but I value your opinion, thanks again. xx

Hi Jeff,
Thank you for your kind comments on "Flesh".
Just been reading your samples and latest blogs, all good stuff, especially like "Glastonbury - no more". Cheers, Lynn x

Hi Ann, thanks for comments on "Flesh". I often do put in the odd humorous comment, so the "too hot to handle" line was intentional, but if any of the rest sounded comical then it wasn't intended! I shall post a free verse version as well.
Lol, love your comment on him being a language teacher! My REAL guy is the one who started to snore in "Warm Embrace", so this guy could be anything really, though I did say French AFTER A FASHION! Lol, Lynn xx

Hi Lynn - I just saw Isobel's comment on Flesh and your reply to her about rhyming etc. Funnily enough, you said that rhyming works better in an amusing poem. I think that with Flesh, the rhyme almost made it into an amusing poem, which was probably not what you intended! It would be interesting to see a second version in free verse and compare. x

Yep - I hear what you are saying. I often start of a poem in free verse and then whittle away at it until it near as damn it rhymes - it must be the musician in us... or old habits dying hard LOL x

Hi Isobel, thank you for commenting on "Flesh". Before I joined WOL I had only ever written rhyming poetry, but I have recently dabbled with free verse - in "Arillas" and "Warm Embrace" for instance, yet sometimes I have to actually change verses because they ended up rhyming anyway!! I actually think rhyming works better with comical poems, but free verse is probably better with the romantic. Thanks for advice anyway, always welcome, and I shall give it more of a try. xx

Hi Dave - hope you are well. I'm so pleased that Win chose your poem as the poem of the month. I must admit I hadn't heard it before, seems very different to recent poems of yours. I like it, and also your other lighter stuff too. So well done! xx

I always find your poems interesting and with a lot of thought behind them. I see from re-reading your profile that you look forward to criticism/comment etc. I don't know how often you make comments on other poets poems - if you do, you are more likely to get feedback from them. Good luck with it all anywaY! XX

Well I can only apologise for having misunderstood your poem, and for completely missing the re-cycling tray - all is clear now.
And as for the picture - I have seen some very pleasant ones of you ... and if you're going to have one that makes you look like something barking - perhaps Pekinese is not your best look? ... get yourself a brandy and you'll look a lot more saintly, Bernard!
:)

Hello Jack thank you for your kind comments , i also have a monthly poetry column at www.pennyblackmusic.co.uk .
John is a really nice man , if you ever get to meet him you will have a great time, he is very down to earth and a lovable rogue. I have just wrote an article on him inc an interview. You can find it on pennyblack or next month I think it is going up on this site.
If you get to met Johnny you will have a good time he is really interesting and funny, say hello from me and tell him I will catch him again soon. Oh I nearly forgot as with everyones heros you do get nervous when you are with them but with John he makes you at ease and you soon feel as though you have been pals for years so dont worry, if you ever get the chance to meet him take it , you will never forget it.

Thank you all for your wonderful comments.
"Ian Dury meets Elvis"! Wow complements indeed...Do you mind if we quote that? ;-)
The music has been carefully constructed to complement the words so that, hopefully, the whole package is more than the sum of the parts. Glad you liked it and thanks for the welcome.

Hi Cyn - "crimplene & tweed" - you are so kind to me & my poems - I don't know what I've done to deserve it, since many of them are just daft throwaway ideas. I remember commenting on yours about "what women want" type of theme a while ago which was really good, but sometimes it doesn't seem fair that one or two poets just seem to "ring our bell" & yet others ignore them. Ah well different strokes & all that !
all the best. B

Hi there, just listened to your audio. I like the fact that the acoustics don't override the words which does seem to occur with a lot of this particular style of performance poetry.
I love your take on Moses. Very funny. Great stuff :-)

Hello Ann,
Cheers for reading and commenting on 'How To Fix A Broken Man'. I've replied in the comments section of the poem, but I'll also tell you here - the 'marine on the beach' line was something Darren wrote himself in the comments under the poem, I haven't edited the poem since first putting it up and that line was never in the poem. He's a sneaky one that Mr Thomas.
Glad you enjoyed it! Even if you read lines that were never there! x
