Polygyny is a misconstrued concept by many. I've just touched upon this topic from a woman's perspective. There's a lot of legal, religious, social aspects attached with this concept.
Thank you for reading it and leaving your words of appreciation on my blog.

Ghazala,
Thank you for appreciating my remarks on the wearing of the hijab. As you know I am a person of Faith and firmly believe that God's law is above any law passed by a temporal power. God must always be our first consideration. His laws are just. The hijab in an important aspect of your Faith and I wholly respect those ladies who dress according to the will of Allah. Please continue to write your poetry as it is much appreciated. Inshallah.

Is "spector" how you spell "spectre" beyond the UK? The use of
the word in your latest excellent poem had my mind thinking of
Phil Spector!! 😎

HI Keith Glad you liked my ancient poem 'The Teatime Bulletin'. It was written forty years ago in response to events occurring at the time in Central America. The names and locations have since changed but , sadly, nothing else has.

Hi Helene - apropos your interest in the recording of "You Smiled". I've had a reply from Pete Dymond who managed to
locate his reference - a few years ago now. He tells me that it
was recorded on an 8track tape machine (pre-computer use!),
with instruments that included guitar, bass, piano, brass and
string sounds from a Mirage (sampling) keyboard...vocal by
Pete himself. Hope this answers your question. He has now
scaled down his stuff in his 76th year!! 😎

As I said, Steve, 'Kier' or Keir' is a small point, but as an old sub-editor, I have to point these things out. And to mention, too, that yes, I am still a southerner, but have been living up north for the past year. The locals are quite friendly where we are!

How do you know for sure that it was 'Sir Kier Starmer'?
Were you in an adjoining stall?

Your comment on 'Kier' is gratefully accepted.
I don't get along to poetry venues very often, and this takes about 10 minutes to do, which doesn't go down well with those who run venues.
C'est la vie

There's a difference between understanding and accepting. What suits our interests and aspirations are easily followed. Religious obligations are often easily overlooked because there's no religious policing anymore, but government's legal and societal moral policing is feared and implemented, either half heartedly or due to legal pressures upon the people.
