Ducks are my second favorite dinosaur, and this made me laugh. Good poem. Filthy birds that they are though, I think they're pigs with feathers - always getting in the mud and murky waters. Mine do anyway, but good read.?

Quackers

Get out the maracas
Ducks are going quackers.

They are still forced to flee the flock
By the poetic rhyming lot.

They use iambic pentameter,
to please the quack examiner.

A mallard named Dr Smart
Who's a less than clever sort.

His iambs are like I am,
but I prefer not to rhyme

because not all poems have to,
did they teach him that at big school?

I'll stick to my own style if you like it or not.
I haven't gone barmy, but ducks have lost the plot

Now Carol and Jon and friend Brian
We also have ducks way down here
We feed them on porridge and whisky
At all other times they prefer beer

Now you ask where the heck does this porridge
And whisky come into our ducks
I'm told it's duck food in your Ireland
So we follow in your steps (what the f----)

Now Carol your poem on ducks
It createth a problem for rhymers
Nice Brian was able to sign off with
Well Carol for the sake of a duck

Let's see if a rhymer like me
Can politely say goodby to ducks
Without stooping right down in the gutter
And dragging up all of this muck
