I hope our moon appreciates all the poems that are offered up to her/him/it by the world's writers for surely it's a subject that fascinates so many - perhaps seen as a benign and reliable friend?

There's a good flow to your piece and some lovely imagery but for me maybe just a little too wordy repetitive and less may have achieved more in the long run.

"my words laid end to end were like a staircase to the moon"
