Poems a poet does not think much of are often the best ones.

Congratulations to Graham.
I only managed one visit to Milton Keynes and always thought of it as unfashionable, which is perhaps no bad thing. In any event, what do I know? This is a deeply personal, richly annotated tribute.

Congratulations Graham.
Back in the late 70's I went on an organised coach trip from West London to Milton Keynes, to be shown four developments in the hope we would sign up to purchase a property. I didn't...I was only along for the ride so to speak. The whole area had been planted with thousands of saplings, and as it was winter and they were leafless it resembled a scene from a WW1 battlefield. Twenty years later I found myself working in MK, in Knowlhill, and was able to see how the trees and the town had matured.
