Intriguing. I have read a variety of prose items on subjects like
death, family and personal misfortunes that never fail to elicit
sympathetic/identifying comments. Is it the form - or the content...
or both? I just made a point of moving away substantially from
my usual verse in the cause of variety of thought and presentation
to present content which might not be familiar but nonetheless
interesting. Ah well...back to the craic of the formulaic...suitably
chastised, but not disheartened.

Minds meeting as hearts beat to find the rhythm of the other,
You can hear the music binding the words together.
Well-penned Becky.

This appears in the section marked Poetry Blogs, MC. Where's the poetry in this? Maybe it's a prose-poem. If so, I don't think it's very good ...

Firstly, I am thankful that everyone seems to have got the flavour of this in different ways that all add in to the mix.
Rachel, lovely that you have such a close intimation to this. I think it pays to leave a bit of room for personal thoughts on top.
Dorothy, so pleased this worked for you ! Thanks .
Peter, cheers; nice to have your specific views on my work - you go that extra distance. I do enjoy laying on the voice these days.
Yes Brian, a trying time indeed and often the deals are good for buyers. Thanks..
Vautaw, very kind to pick up the message here. I'm really pleased.
Thanks David. Too close to home, even for my sensibilities. I have met guys like that who are slippery sams, and proud of themselves. Despicable really, but in their world that's about right.
Hi Graham, I think you have picked up on the innate romanticism of the subject, which is close to my own relationship with what I own and use. Yes, I have my granddad's saw in the original army blanket, around 1900 vintage. It is a necessary and upsetting process so often to have to part with that treasured by the departed.
Stu, what can I say? you made my day. I do like descriptive pieces, but they're not always received as well as this one. Thank you!
Mark, you make an excellent case for me thank you!!
Hi Martin, my advice would be to enjoy your piece of heaven, and to we wary if it ever has to be broken up!!
Thanks for looking in, Rich and John.

Easily assimilated because of the rhyming Becky, and makes a whole lot of sense. The point can often seem overpolished when the lines are so easy on the mind I feel, perhaps this awful tragedy of when to and when to we all feel at times (rhyme that is).
Highly effective in any case.

Bleak and uncompromising stuff John. I like the sense of escape in the pigeon loft and the plane. A real sense of dislocation dislocation.

I'd really like to write successful free poetry, with no rhymes. I'm seeking to try different textures and styles but I seem to be incapable of avoiding rhyming thus far. Maybe I need to take lessons or something. I agree that rhymes can so easily be forced and crass.

i think rhyme, when done properly, is as important a part of poetry as any. but too many people force rhymes and i guess its just left me a bit cold to it. proper rhythm and rhyme is beautiful though. i rhymed the last two lines of my latest and shuddered a little when it came out!
just personal preference i guess. you can tell your pieces work well live, as they force you to canter through the lines in your mind.

My offering for the NaPoWriMo.net April 2nd prompt - end with a question, sort of fused with another prompt I found on @tristamateer on Instagram (write a poem about writing a poem). I think it could be refined but hey the point of this month is to get it out there and edit later if I've understood correctly.

I am intrigued by the fact that often words are our only weapon against an unbalanced world and this poem seems to express that for me Trevor. To all be refugees is to widen the concept and implies a state of inner war . The very word involves a degree of vulnerability which needs the best of human nature to cope with it.
I always try in a comment to get close to a mindset - but can of course come completely adrift! I hope this one dignifies some of your thoughts.
I'll get my coat.

There is such passion in this piece Becky. It shows so strongly the love of your craft even allowing its pass to creep towards implied self harm is masterful.
Rarely do we see this quality on here a well deserved POTW in my humblest of opinions.

Don If only.
We have been watching PMQs and someof the brexit debates
and they are nothing short of appalling. If children/young people behaved in the way these 'responsible adults' behave they would be
asked to leave the school/premises.
Young people learn by example mmmmmmmmmmmm

Hello Sarah,
I applaud you using.your voice to speak your mind, especially in this game. This is the 2nd time that I've seen the word "brexit" today so that tells me this is something that I need to know about and so does everyone else. I never heard the term before till today...I have some reading to do.
