Hi Cynthia. a worthwhile exercise I think. Never heard of this form. Really reminded me of the metaphysical poets. did you feel that the form made you write like that? well done witht this one. win

Thomas, you know I am a fan who wouldn't skip over your name. This one is really good. And three years ago too. It works a universal situation without soppiness and, for me, tough irony as indicated by both your clear-eyed honesty and your choice of sophisticated vocabulary.

I had a great holiday - studied up a storm 'just for fun' - and sweat buckets over two archaic but wonderful forms of poetry. This nearly rendered me bananas - but I persisted. Any comments very welcome.

Hi Isobel, thanks for your comment...
and give up poetry? I can't do that, it won't leave me alone :-)

I don't think the subject of the poem is in denial, hence the question mark in the title. I think the subject of the poem is fully aware.

ps I don't think i'll be on here again until the move has taken place. Just tried to blog a poem but there was no space to place my entry :-)

Odd though this may seem, you are the first person to ever ask me for beauty tips...

I find growing my hair down to my eyebrows helps to volumise the lashes - though this is not always easy for the male ostrich.

You could instead leave your eyebrows to grow bushy - another little tip of mine!

Or, if you bat repeatedly, this also has a volumising effect - be careful who you do it to though, it can be misinterpreted as an preliminary mating ritual...

You look very manly in your new pic Winston - though I keep wanting to turn the picture round cos you seem to be defying gravity!

Hi Winston, thanks for your kind comments. I really enjoyed hearing your Best Before End on this website, I think I'm approaching that myself! I'll hopefully be over to Hebden in July or August depending on my work shifts. I really enjoy hearing your poetry there and I wrote this poem inspired after hearing you there the last time: She wants to hold my hand, she wants to hold MY hand, YES!!!!!!!!!I am loved. Cheers again, see you soon matexxxxxxx

Diplomacy of the true Statespersons! You two should run the world! Great solution which required thought, wit and application. Actually, the 'child-eating' idea is rife with possibilities. But, yes, let's do something myth-oriented again for sure, not necessarily Greek or Roman.
BTW, the 'cherries on the cake' is a genious picture.
