Graham's coomments were great, very constructive. I sometimes get a blind spot for repeats so happy to take those on board. more than happy in fact - grateful!

Made a small tweak as a result, so anyone reading now, don't think Graham's gone nuts - he was absolutely right!

A nice reflective one Pete. The sea has that affect, doesn't it? Though you'd have to walk a long way to get to it in Southport - and you are normally lying in something other than sand when you get there!

I like the gentle timelessness of it all - it reminds me a bit of another poem you wrote using the sea. I also like the idea of 'throwing our troubles into orbit' - if only we could...xx

Pete my man! This, although one of your shorter poems is absolutely fantastic. So much emotion and so much declared. There is pain here i can identify with on many levels. Just wish i had the chance to bask in the sun awhile too. But yeah, i can really identify with the easing of your mind and soul on a beach basking in the sun. Nice one Pete.

It's Klimt, Cynthia. I have his Water Serpents over my fireplace - but I've hung it sideways - it's in browns, beiges and golds so goes perfectly with modern decor. I think his Mother and Child picture is lovely too - though some of his work is getting so popular that it's losing its edge for me.

I think the picture fits the poem well. Love that defies everything - its passion all the more heightened by the inevitablility of death. I like the urgency in it.
