STEVE,
As someone who has recently been conferring with God (and the N.H.S.) about my prospective mortality I like the `stand to` feel of this.

I like particularly the disillusionment of stanza five and the word-play about desertion and its consequences.

The whole thing rings true about the essence of courage.

Thanks.

You've really succeeded in capturing the essence of this black hole the subject is in. The whole work feels suppressive and dense. Well done.

Hello Dieana,

Welcome to Write Out Loud, we hope you have a good time exploring the site. We're really looking forward to reading some of your work and I know that you’ll get a warm welcome from the other WOL-ers too.

It would be great if you could upload a picture of yourself, it’s really good to see what our fellow poets look like.

Have a good browse around, there’s work here on virtually any subject and there’s always lots going on. If you have the time to make some comments about the work of other poets please feel free to do so, it’s often the best way to get some constructive feedback about your own work too.

If you experience any technical problems there’s usually somebody who’ll help you out so just ask and someone will get back to you reasonably swiftly.

WOL is a friendly, creative and unassuming place, so welcome from all of us once again.

Graham @ the Write Out Loud Team.

Cheers.

Hello Sian,
many thanks for your very flattering comments.
I don't know about you but I am finding writing particularly harder as time goes by.
I write monthly for a living and it seems to drain something out of me, leaving little left for creative work.
When I am inspired it pours out but the waiting is unbearable.

thank you once again and KEEP WRITING

Graham

Fair enough, T.C. But could it be that the further north you are, the more you are "involved"? As for the Pistorious trial -
surely a prime case of the media making hay
while the sun shines. Priorities all gone to pot in the much abused "public interest".

Thx Shirley-Anne,

That in essence was what I was hoping for, so it's good to know it has come across like that.

Lovely to hear you read last night at the Baum (great poetry nights). Maybe next time we'll get chance to chat. With a bit of luck me and Nat will be at the Ring O Bells.

Best of

Chris
