Ah, Binte I'd writ two lines
About you to put in
I struggled with the last two
Your verse I couldn't fin
You've liked much of my work
Which I appreciate
Perhaps we've now established
A poet/reader date? ?

Don -
If words are worth your precious time
How much better when expressed in rhyme?
And add to them a sense of rhythm
To please your fans and keep you with 'em (ouch!)
Cheers

Col and Keith.
On a rare occasion I'm going off-rhyme. Rhyme is in my blood. It's like metronome constantly beating away. To me rhyme is the music to which I add a voice, my message.
I write different. And will continue.
Thanks for your support ?
PS Yes, Tiger does come out of Singapore. I had to type in my date of birth before being let into their website !! Can't let Tiger loose on little boys...

Don,
From memory Tiger Beer is from Singapore Breweries. I used to shift several cans a day. Seriously though Don you have the spirit of a poet so keep writing mate.

Message to Brian:
Poor Brian he's never been here
Nor sat where I have sit
So I can say whatever I like
And get away with it
We throw our boomerangs around
Our yards creating circles
And use words quite sophisticated
(like shit, and what the firkle?)
Forgot me backyard billabong
Brian, I surf a lot
A tidal wave of pleasure had
Shit, I'm shorta shot...

Gosh Keith! I gotta try this Tiger stuff. Their website tells me:
"Tiger is the beer with bite; breaking conventions and championing those who dare to pursue brave ideas to make positive impact. Uncaged."
Grrr.. gotta get uncaged.. watchout ?

Don,
Good work as I think you met the challenge. How do you rate Tiger Beer in comparison to Fosters? Brian must be completely unaware of the intricacies of Australian culture. Diggers are highly sophisticated people who play didyeridus and gaze into billabongs. Two great sources of inspiration from down under. I liked this poem Don. Don´t let our diggers put you down

Find some Australian culture and if you can, write about it

I do agree with the ideas.
Making poetry out of arguments is a tricky business, as it starts to sound like boring arguments rather than shared ideas.
I think Alexander Pope did it well. There are some strong lines like " the monotony of matrimony is calamity". I like the play of sounds there.
But just relying on end line rhymes becomes monotony too.
I hope you are inspired to develop more interesting patterns that relate to the arguments. Gender is not the only imposition of uniformity. Stale ideas about what makes a poem has its own trap.
Best wishes.

Keith you've been supportive
Of me and other's work
It's so important doing this
To keep us up and perk
I know I write quite different
I know I can write strange
I write what some might even say
Is very quite off-range
But off-range often brings about
A different point of view
One we'd never thought about
Not me, or even you
D ?
